Joseph F. Alcino was an analytical chemist employed by E.R. Squibb and Sons at the Squibb Institute for Medical research. At the outset of WWII he played a key role in the deployment of penicillin by isolating its chemical structure, which enabled the drug to go into mass production. Joseph F.
